Capital markets attorney.

Maria is a capital markets attorney in London. She advises issuers, sponsors and underwriters on international capital markets and finance transactions with a particular emphasis on high yield bonds, equity capital markets, and cross-border securities offerings across a broad range of sectors and jurisdictions.

Maria joined YSI in 2013 and built and led the Finance, Law and Economics working group for three years. In this role she developed and ran, among other projects, the webinar series Central Banks: The Superstars of Our Time? and Conceptualizing Capitalism.

Maria currently works on publishing her Ph.D. thesis on the bankruptcy of systemically important banks and on a Money View analysis of the European high yield bond market. She blogs at plumberinapantsuit.com.

Maria is admitted to the bar in New York and in Germany. She holds an LL.B. from Bucerius Law School in Hamburg/Germany, an LL.M. from Columbia Law School in New York and a Ph.D. in Law and Economics from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich/Germany.
