Shahar Shelef

Mr. Shahar Shelef is the Director of the Economic and Strategic Affairs department at the Center for Policy Research at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Since joining the MFA he has been assigned abroad as the DCM in Abuja, Nigeria (2002-2004); Consul at the Consulate General in Philadelphia, PA, USA (2004-2006); and most recently as the DCM at Prague, Czech Republic (2009-2014).

Prior to his joining the MFA, Mr. Shelef was working at the Israeli Antitrust Authority, at the Investigation department.

Israeli born, Mr. Shelef served in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), and currently holds the rank of Captain (res.).

Shahar is a lawyer by profession and holds, in addition, MBA degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
