Richard Batley joined Lombard Street Research in 2014. He has 18 years’ experience as an economist and portfolio manager, concentrating on G7 economies and fixed income markets.

Richard started his career at the UK Treasury where his final role was Head of Foreign Exchange Management. He then worked in a number of institutional and private wealth fund management positions in the City of London. He has also served as an adviser to the Treasury Select Committee of the UK Parliament.

He has a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Economics and Economic History from the London School of Economics where his later research concentrated on the interaction of sovereign bond markets and fixed exchange rate systems.

At Lombard Street, Richard provides the lead coverage for the US economy. He also edits the LSR Global Leading Indicators publication, as well as covering wider economic developments.
