The workshop will engage scientists (physicists and chemists) who work on energy materials and materials, which must come to be referred to as critical minerals and/or rare earth minerals, and social scientists (economists, historians, political scientists). The importance of critical minerals in the global economy and the transition to green energy requires a multi-disciplinary conversation between scientists, engineers, economists, and political scientists.
