Peter H. Bent is a PhD candidate in economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His research interests span economic history, development, and growth. His dissertation focuses on financial crises in peripheral economies during the ‘first era of globalization’ from 1870-1913.
From 2014-2016, Bent was a Marie Curie Early Stage Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. He also holds master’s degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of New Hampshire.
