Barbara Craig is Professor and Chair of the Department of Economics at Oberlin College. She earned a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Minnesota and her B.A. at Texas Christian University. Her professional interests are international trade, international finance and economic growth. She has also published in the area of agricultural development, productivity measurement and the impact of research spending in agriculture. Her recent research has focused on international capital markets and the connection between international capital flows and economic growth.

Prior professional employment includes the Economics Program of the U.S. National Science Foundation, the Department of Economics at Virginia Tech, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Her involvement with the NSF continues through work on review panels. Dr. Craig currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Economic Research Forum, a network of economists in the Middle East dedicated to promoting high quality economic research to contribute to sustainable development in the Arab countries, Iran and Turkey.
