Ambassador Vishnu Prakash

Ambassador Vishnu Prakash, a law graduate (gold medalist) and a career diplomat (IFS:1981), retired as India’s High Commissioner to Canada in 2016. Hitherto he was the Ambassador to South Korea, Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs and Consul General to Shanghai. He also held various positions in Tokyo, New York, Moscow, Islamabad, Vladivostok and Cairo. Mr. Prakash did a sabbatical with the ‘Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies’ in Hawaii.

Presently he is a foreign affairs analyst, adviser and columnist, specializing in the Indo-Pacific region.

He is associated with prominent think-tanks, educational institutions and writes regularly for national and international publications. He is a sought-after speaker and an expert panelist on Indian and foreign TV channels.
