YSI

Through the Young Scholars Initiative (YSI), INET provides support to students, young professionals, or others who embrace new and critical ways of thinking about the economy. YSI fosters conversation among those who wish to engage with new economic thinking and connects young scholars to the Institute’s vast network of economists.

Justin Seo

Research Communications Coordinator

Justin Seo is Research Communications Coordinator at the Institute for New Economic Thinking, where he works with the research team and the Young Scholars Initiative to bring INET’s scholarship to wider audiences.

He joined INET in the summer of 2026 and built the systems and formats the communications team now uses. His own research interests sit in environmental economics and international political economy, with recent work on multilateral climate finance and on how oil supply and shipping disruptions affect global trade.

Justin is completing his bachelor’s degree at Swarthmore College, where he is an Honors Major in Economics and an Honors Minor in Environmental Studies.
