Interested in bottom-up agent-based modelling of macroeconomic systems, especially linking macroeconomics and finance.

Joeri Schasfoort is a PhD candidate at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. His focus is on the changing relationship between the financial sector and the economy. Contributing to the Young Scholars Initiative, he was part of the organizing committee of the YSI conference at the central bank in Amsterdam and currently coordinator for the Agent-Based Modelling Working Group. At the University of Groningen, he is involved in the creation of massive open online courses (MOOCs), such as a multidisciplinary introduction to complexity and uncertainty.
