Jasmina Arifovic is a professor in the department of economics at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia. She received a B.A. in economics from the University of Sarajevo in 1981 and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago in 1991. Her previous academic positions include assistant professor at McGill University from 1990 to 1993 and assistant professor at Simon Fraser University from 1993 to 1997. Dr. Arifovic has been working on evolutionary models of currency crises, behavior of exchange rates, laboratory experiments with the expectational Phillips curve, models of learning in various trading institutions, and mechanisms for providing public goods.
