David Rothkopf is CEO and Editor-at-Large of the FP Group, publishers of Foreign Policy Magazine, a division of the Washington Post Company. He is also President and CEO of Garten Rothkopf, an international advisory firm based in Washington, DC. He is the internationally acclaimed author of “Power, Inc.: The Epic Rivalry Between Big Business and Government…and the Reckoning that Lies Ahead” (Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 2012), “Superclass: The Global Power Elite and the World They are Making” (Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 2008) and “Running the World: The Inside Story of the National Security Council and the Architects of American Power” (Public Affairs, 2005) as well as four other books and many articles for leading publications worldwide. In addition, he is a visiting scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace where he directs the Carnegie Economic Strategy Roundtable, is chairman of the National Strategic Investment Dialogue and serves on a number of boards and advisory councils. Previously he served as CEO of Intellibridge Corporation, managing director of Kissinger Associates and as U.S. Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Policy during the Clinton Administration. He has taught international affairs at both Columbia University’s Graduate School of International and Public Affairs and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and lectured at more than a dozen leading universities in the U.S. and Europe.
