Moira Herbst is Senior Vice President of Communications and Editorial Director at the Institute for New Economic Thinking.
Prior to joining INET, Moira was a Senior Vice President at communications firm BerlinRosen. She led media strategy and developed editorial content for clients including the Russell Sage Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation and the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law. Engagements focused on a range of issues including inequality, low-wage work, financial regulation, criminal justice reform and voting rights.
Moira was previously a correspondent at Reuters, where she covered major litigation including the BP lawsuit in the aftermath of the Gulf oil spill and the Supreme Court sex discrimination class action against Wal-Mart. Previously, Moira was a staff writer for Bloomberg News and BusinessWeek, covering beats including labor, immigration, education and energy markets. She won multiple awards for features and investigations, including four New York Press Club prizes and an American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) award. Moira has appeared on MSNBC, CNBC and Fox Business as a commentator and has contributed columns on economic issues and the labor market for The Guardian.
Moira has a B.A. in Political Science from Brown University, an M.A. in International Relations from University College Cork in Ireland (George Mitchell Scholar) and an M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University.
