What is the Institute for New Economic Thinking Conference?
The invitation-only inaugural Conference is a landmark achievement reflecting the organization's extraordinary commitment to and dedication to the invigorating the conversation around economic theory, method, and policy and to fostering the development of original and innovative contributions to economic thinking.

Where do I find additional information on the program?
Basic information on the program can be found on our website: www.ineteconomics.org As an invited guest, you will receive personal access information to the meeting’s private registration area.

How many people attended the conference last year?
This is our inaugural conference for invited guests only.

What attire is appropriate for each event?
Business casual attire is the appropriate attire for the conference events.

Who will participate?
We envision that more than 150 academic, business and government policy thought leaders from around the world will convene to explore the reasons that prevailing economic theory failed to predict or explain the financial and economic crisis that erupted in 2007-2008.

Where will the conference take place?
It will take place at King's College, University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

Where will I stay?
Glow Media, our conference and logistics provider, will contact you upon confirmation of your registration.

What is the working language of the meeting?
Sessions will be held in English.

Program
Are there any evening events?
Yes. The conference opens with a welcome reception & dinner on Thursday, April 8th. There is a keynote address during dinner on Friday and Saturday.

Registration
How much is the conference registration fee?
As a guest of INET there is no conference registration fee. However, you are responsible for your own air and hotel.

What does registration include?
Registration allows access to all sessions, including plenaries, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

By when do I need to register?
Registration deadline is March 30, 2010.

Thursday, April 8th - 2PM - 7PM
Friday, April 9th - 8AM – 3PM
Saturday, April 10th – 8AM – 3PM

Does my registration include hotel accommodations?
On a first-serve basis, complimentary accommodations are being offered at the King’s College Campus. Otherwise, your hotel will be your responsibility. We’ve negotiated rates at the Hilton Cambridge. For Hilton accommodations, please contact Hilton Cambridge, to book your hotel reservations online.

INET has negotiated a special rate of £199/night, occupancy rates not included, at the Hilton Cambridge (UK). A limited block of rooms are available, so book your hotel room early. Our Group Code is: INTE090410. Please use this code when booking.

Can I register on-site?
Only if you are an attendee.

Can registered participants attend all the sessions and events?
Registered participants have open access to all activities listed in the conference agenda.

Can I purchase single tickets for individual events?
Single tickets are not available.

Are meals included in the registration package?
Yes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served each day of the conference.

What if I have to cancel?
All cancellations and name substitutions must be submitted in writing via email to events@ineteconomics.org 

If I have already registered but cannot attend, can I send someone else in my place?
INET will accept a name change if the request is received in writing via email to events@ineteconomics.org by March 15th. All name change requests must be submitted by the original registrant.

Speakers
I'm interested in being a speaker at the conference. Have speakers been selected yet?
Yes, however please submit your CV and other details to info@inteteconomics.org

Location/Hotel/Travel
Do I need a visa?
Please check with the United Kingdom embassy or consulate nearest you for visa requirements.

Am I responsible for arranging and paying for my own air travel?
Yes.

What time is hotel check-in/check-out?
Cambridge Campus – You may process your check-in by 2pm at the conference registration desk. Check-out time is 9:30AM on Sunday, April 11th A secure luggage room will be provided if needed.

Hilton Cambridge - You may process your check-in time anytime upon your arrival. Your room will be ready at 3:00 p.m. The bell desk can assist with luggage handling and storage. Check-out time is 12:00 p.m.

Are gratuities (i.e. tips) included or is this my responsibility?
INET is covering the gratuities for the banquet staff only during the conference. Tips for hotel service such as bell stand, valet, housekeeping, etc. is at your discretion and your expense.
